Sermon Title: "God's Eye Witness News"

Scripture Reading: John 1:29-34

"I SAW HIM" Game: Children can be given ideas of something to do for the other children and when he has done a pantomime, etc, the other children will say, "I saw him skip, or I saw him clap, ". Let children know that today we're going to find out what John the Baptist saw and what others SEE in us.

EYE WITNESS SKIT: Let children play act the above game and one of the children can be an announcer to tell the class his EYE WITNESS news about what that child is doing. Children will enjoy using the microphone and pretending they are a reporter. Discussion about today's lesson on sharing OUR witness about what Jesus means to us.

CLOUD AND DOVE ART: Allow children to draw a cloud and add cotton, etc, as well as pictures or stickers of doves. Write the Bible verse on the cloud or around the edges of the poster or give child a typed out piece of paper to glue on their art picture of the Bible verse.

"SIGNS" EVERYWHERE HUNT:
Have long banners hidden for children to find in designated areas to HUNT for an eye witness team effort. Ideas for banners are: Since Jesus came into my heart, sadness has turned to joy; Since Jesus came into my heart, doubt has turned to faith; worry has turned to trust; fear has turned to confidence, etc. When children return to their classroom with a banner, have children tape banner strip of paper on the wall or on a poster!

"EYE WITNESS VIDEO" - Have children video tape some "witnessing events" on video. Each child could describe something that they have seen or heard and encourage children to give details. After video taping these events, encourage children NOW to tell something they know about JESUS and to share alot of details about what they have "witnessed" about JESUS in their lives (ie: He loves us; He takes care of us; He heals us; He protects us, etc)

EYE WITNESS SNACK: Teacher can have different snacks in a bag. Each child will reach in and take out a snack and tell what they see and what they know about the snack that they chose. Discuss our story and John's eye witness reporting!

SING or READ "Since Jesus Came Into my Heart". Children can take turns reading a verse of this song and then all the children can say or sing the chorus together!!!
