Sermon Title: "A Father's Wisdom"

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 4:1

1 - COOKIES FOR DAD - Decorate a large cookie (made by the teacher ahead of time and probably 2 - 3 times the size of a normal cookie) with frosting and sprinkles and add a pair of very inexpensive sun glasses bought at a dollar store, or in a package in the birthday aisle at the Wal-mart's store. Very thin red licorice can be placed on the frosting as a "smile". A delicious treat for DAD!

2 - A TIE FOR DAD - Draw a TIE (the length of a piece of construction paper) for Dad - thin at the top and angle out as if making a teepee and then angle back in to a point at the bottom.... shape of a tie!! Childen can cut the tie out and kids can decorate the tie with markers, sequins, stickers, etc and could write WORLD'S GREATEST DAY... or THANK YOU DAD, or I LOVE YOU DAD, etc. A colored paper clip could hold the TIE in place on Dad after SS.

3 - "TIE" BIBLE BOOK MARK could be made for dad with the above ideas, but the tie would be only be 6 - 8 inches long and could be doubled so the book mark could be like a card as well. Children may enjoy writing a few ideas of how they would like to HELP their dad! Only markers and stickers and no glue on this tie! (Sequins and sprinkles, etc would come off)

4 - DAD CAP could be decorated for DAD. I would purchase a cardboard or foam cap at Wal-mart's in the craft section and have items for children to decorate the CAP for DAD. I have found that markers smear on the foam, so pens or other little foam pieces could be used to decorate!

5 - MIRROR REFLECTION for DAD --- Why not use our mirrors again for the child to hold the mirror up to dad and say, "Dad, look in this mirror and see who "I" love"!!!
