Forgiven

Submitted by Bob Renn

THEME: Jesus forgives our sin.

OBJECT: Football referee penalty flag (I dressed up in my referee uniform to present)

SCRIPTURE: All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. Acts 10:43 (NIV)

Football season has started now, and everyone who plays football must play by the rules. When a player breaks a rule in a football game, the referee will throw a penalty flag. The player cannot ask for forgiveness from the referee or say, "I'm sorry, I will do better next time."  A penalty is given and there is no forgiveness.

When we break a rule in life, it is called a sin. The Bible says that God is willing to forgive us of our sins.  How do we get forgiveness for our sins?  By believing in Jesus and asking for forgiveness with a willing heart.  Jesus is waiting to forgive us of all of our sins.

Jesus, thank you for your love and for your forgiveness of our sins. Amen.
