Scripture Reading: Mark 12:41-44

"GIVING" ROLE PLAY: Hand out various denominations of money to the children as they come in. After telling the story, have someone pass the offering plate and children put their money in the plate. This will be not only a little OBJECT LESSON for the kids, but may even let them feel what its like to give ALOT (and maybe boast) or to ONLY be able to give a LITTLE and to feel very HUMBLE (but to know it was ALL they could give). If some children complain about the "small" amount that the teacher gave them (I only got 2 nickels and "he" got a whole dollar).... let them know that THEY are part of today's Bible lesson!!

GIVING CHAIN: Cut strips of various colored construction paper for the children to make a GIVING paper chain. Before taping the strip together, have children write something that THEY could give to Jesus (little or big). One strip could have their NAME on it, their next strip could tell something to give to Jesus. Then children could loop their paper chain together and hang on the wall to make GIVING EXAMPLES!

HANDS, HEART, FEET, MONEY POSTERS: Have many sheets of paper that the children can take to trace their hands (on one sheet), trace their feet (on another sheet), draw hearts (on another sheet), and even some pretend money to glue on one sheet. These could be POSTERS on a focal wall for this week.....OR teacher or students may even desire to make up a BOOKLET with these sheets of paper, of ways to GIVE to JESUS!

WHAT CAN I GIVE JESUS POEM: On poster board or chalk board.... Begin poem with WHAT CAN I GIVE JESUS. Let children write a couple of lines to add to poem and end the poem with I'll give Him ME!!

Example:

WHAT CAN I GIVE JESUS?
What does He want me to be?
He set me free at Calvary,
I'LL GIVE HIM ME!!!

WHAT CAN I GIVE JESUS?
He gave so much to me!
My hands, my heart, my feet I'll give,
My life, for all eternity.
I'LL GIVE HIM ME!!
