Objects: A Cornucopia. It would be interesting to also have a curved goat's horn that has been hollowed out if you could find one. Theme: Giving thanks to God for His blessings. Scripture: Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Psalm 107:8 How many of you know what this is? It is called a cornucopia. It is also sometimes called a horn of plenty. At one time, the cornucopia was made from a curved goat's horn that was hollowed out and filled with fruit and grains. Today, the cornucopia is usually made from a basket like this one. It is often used as a decoration around Thanksgiving because the cornucopia is a symbol of all of the good things that we have to enjoy. We have a lot to be thankful for, don't we? What are some of the things for which you have to be thankful? (give them some time to name some things) As you know, this Thursday is Thanksgiving, let us be sure to remember who it is that gives us all of the good things that we have. The Bible tells us that every good and every perfect gift comes from God. It also says to "give thanks to the Lord for his love and for his wonderful deeds." So, let's be sure that we thank him for his love and goodness. Lord, we thank you for your for all of the good gifts
you give to us. Most of all, we thank you for your love and for the gift
of your son, Jesus.
