| Theme: | Priorities/Pentecost |
| Object: | A cell phone (turned off for worship time) and a small Bible. |
| Scripture: | "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." John 14:25-26 |
What do I have here today? Do you know anybody who has a cell phone? How about a Bible? This one is little so it can be carried anywhere. Have you ever wondered what would happen if people treated Bibles like we treat cell phones?
Today is the day that we celebrate God sending His Holy Spirit to be with us so that we are never without God. We call this day Pentecost, or sometimes, “The Birthday of the Church.” Through His Holy Spirit, God is always with us, and we can talk to Him anytime, any place, and we will never have to worry that we will run out of minutes or be disconnected! Let’s pray: Dear God, Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to be with us all of the time. Please help us to remember that we can talk to you any time and anywhere because you are always with us. AMEN! |
