Sermon

The Potter and the Clay

Theme

God is the Potter; We are the Clay.

Object

Play-Do, or Modeling Clay (Divide one color of Play-do into several pieces, let children make what they want)

Scripture

Yet, Oh Lord, You are our Father, We are the Clay, You are the Potter, We are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8 (NIV) Does not the Potter have not the right to make out of the same lump of Clay some pottery for nobel purposes and some for common use? Romans 9:21 (NIV)

All the children have made different things with their clay, but they have all came from the same package. (Rom 9:21) Just like with God. He is our Potter, We are the Clay, he makes all of us different. He makes some of us to have a lot of money, some a little.

However, God made us all, and we are the same in His eyes.

We also have many different talents to use to spread His word. Some may be singers, teachers, or preacher. We all get our message across the same way – by God molding us.

Dear Lord, Please let us remember, You are the Potter, We are the Clay and we are all the work of your hand. Amen
