Sermon Title: "Saving the Best for Last" Scripture Reading: John 2:1-11 |
| TASTING TEST: (Before lesson begins... so the pie could be last of the taste test...): Blindfold children who want to taste test. Ideas to use before a piece of the pie is presented - cracker, chocolate hershey kiss; jello, potato chip; combo, etc). Then have the pie (item and flavor) presented. Tell children we'll be learning about a TASTE TEST in our Bible lesson today. Of course, ALL children should get a piece of PIE after the illustration of HOW to eat that pie the RIGHT WAY --- "saving the best for last"!! FILLING CONTEST GAME: Have 7 little bottles or jars - divide into two teams and have children fill the 7 jars and when all 7 jars are filled with colored or plain water, bring a small amount to the teacher! Tell children to "listen" for what was FILLED in our story today! WHICH IS BEST: Have the children taste and see if they can tell the difference between generic and branded pop or juice? Our lesson today will have a lesson about WHAT'S REAL? We'll learn that JESUS is the REAL THING... not Coke! ETERNAL LIFE COLLAGE: Option 1: Magazine pictures of things God has given us: clothes; food, homes, beds, sheets, toys, etc. TITLE - GOOD THINGS FROM GOD. After glueing pictures on the poster, the teacher will give the children a SIGN that she has typed out "ETERNAL LIFE - SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST" - tape or glue the sign over the collage pictures.
