Sermon Title: "The Spirit of Christmas " Scripture Reading: Luke 3:9-11 |
| GIVING GAME: The teacher places many post it notes around the room (in obvious places, as well as under tables, chairs, etc) with "GIVING" written on each note. Children will find and fill a door or chalk board with the notes as they share one way they could GIVE to others this Christmas.
GIVING IN LOVE: Have the children place small items from a DOLLAR STORE or little things that the teacher has collected for them into one or more shoe boxes. The children will then help wrap the box for giving to someone in need. GIVING IN MOTION: The teacher provides small cookies, treats, or gifts that the children will wrap to give away and not to keep! Small pieces of individually wrapped candy placed inside toilet paper rolls, wrapped, and tied with ribbons at the end of the gift is FUN for kids! GIVING makes me HAPPY: Teacher has construction paper BELLS cut out before class. Children will make their own THUMB PRINTS with paint on the BELLS -- let dry and put little happy face designs on their thumb print and write on bell -- GIVING makes me happy! GIVING SNOWFLAKES: Each child can cut out a snowflake and decorate and write GIVE YOUR ALL TO JESUS, or some phrase suggested by the teacher or students. These could be hung around the room for decoration. Song: "Christmas Is Sharing" (Sung to the tune of "Away in a Manger") Christmas Is Sharing The best gift of all is not under the tree, So, let us remember that this time of year Words © 2006 Sermons4Kids, Inc. |
